Tierney Conner Design Studio weaves together the fields of Architecture, Interior and Landscape Design, to produce projects that span the boundaries between inside and out. We provide a unique service that considers all living spaces in an integrated manner. Our strength is in creating spaces that are site and situation specific to each house, garden and business.
Many of our projects focus on maximizing living area, by expanding activities outdoors, or by finding opportunities within existing spaces - turning limits into assets. While our designs are modern in vocabulary, our projects are often renovations to existing structures with a notable character or quality worth preserving. By merging traditional buildings with updated interventions, complimentary details and refined layouts, we infuse modern style and function. We work within functional and financial parameters to create innovative designs that allow our clients tot take fullest advantage of their existing structures and property.
We create inspired designs for every project, regardless of size. Through artful use of space, views, materials, texture, color and seasonal fluctuations of light and vegetation, we highlight the simple and enjoyable beauty found in everydaty life. We provide our clients with a wholistic approach to living, working and playing that capitalizes upon, and reveals, the unique qualities of a place.
Partners Erin Conner and Anne Tipp Tierney have over 12 years of formal Architecture and Landscape Architecture education and over 20 years of professional experience in Architecture, Interiors, Landscape Design and Horticultural Consultation. As a full service firm specializing in residential and small-scale commercial projects, we offer guidance through the design, permit and construction processes to improve a property--indoors, or out.

Erin received her Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture and her Masters Degree in Architecture and Anne received her Bachelors Degree in Environmental Design and her Masters Degree in Architecture. Both women worked with various Architecture and Landscape firms in the Bay Area prior to founding Tierney Conner and currently reside in Oakland with their families.
